2020, what a year, right? Out here in California we are really starting to hunker down due to the Coronavirus outbreak. My family was hit with the flu this week and so we decided to start a self-quarantine and pull the kids from school. Now, school has followed suit and will be closed for the next 3 weeks.
Moms and Dads who didn’t already have the luxury of staying home or working from home…
I see you.
I know this is a very difficult time for you as you scramble to find childcare solutions or ways to keep your children occupied as you try to work from home.
I’ve thrown together this quick selection of small, curated Pinterest boards with ideas for keeping kids busy at home during this difficult time. I’m working on a more in depth series of resources for you, but I wanted to get this up as quickly as possible as people are affected right now.
No slugging through the endless depths of Pinterest for ideas, these boards are small, to the point, and divied up by age range, though of course you may find activities appropriate for kiddos of any age on these boards as well. This is a work in progress, I will be adding more pins over the next week or so. As a bonus, I’m including a self-care board for you mamas. You can’t pour from an empty cup!
Important note: keeping your kids home does NOT mean you have to stay indoors! Getting sunshine and fresh air is so important to stay healthy! Play outside as much as your home allows for safe play that doesn’t involve people outside of your family. Going to parks and places of nature are still good ideas as long as you are able to maintain a distance of 6 feet from others, avoid playground and picnic table equipment.
